How to work with waypoint files?
What you need to know first:
- Waypoint files are xml files, you can open them and view the
content with any basic text editor (like notepad)
- To access your waypoint-file-directory, you have to open some
hidden folders. See here how to show hidden folders.
Where are your waypoint files located?
In windows xp: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local
Settings\Application
Data\Funcom\Conan\Prefs\<funcom-login>\Waypoints
In vista: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Funcom\
Conan\Prefs\<funcom-login>\Waypoints
Of course replace <username> and <funcom-login> with the
correct folders for your computer.
If you haven't added any waypoint in-game the folder will not be there.
You can add the folder manually or create a waypoint in-game first.
How do you add the new waypoints you find on this site?
Here is how to do it step by step:
- Find the filename in the list you can see on the main page (example: for poitain it is PF2070.xml)
- Do you have own waypoints that you would like to preserve?
- yes -> To make sure the content of your file doesn't get lost, upload
your current file here and you will be given the new file.
- no -> Download the zip-file with all the waypoints here.
- Unzip the contents of the zip file to your waypoints directory.
- Run Age of Conan and go to the zone where the waypoints should be
added. If they haven't been added you did something wrong.
